In large scale RF signal distribution systems such as broadcast signal distributions, several signals of radio bands have to be transmitted over longer cable distances. Due to the different frequency ranges, the signals can be transmitted via one common coaxial cable. This saves costs for the coaxial cables and their installation. With help of signal combiners, multiple signal sources can be combined broadband or frequency selective to a sum signal with low loss in level.
